Walking with the kite. You have to hold the kite upside down and hold the center. This way the wind can flow through it instead of creating power and pulling you .

Kiteboarding in Hood River, Oregon is one of my favorite places to kite. The wind funnels through the mountains ๐ which can create some gusty wind conditions making it very hard to kiteboard. Gusty wind makes the kite harder to control. They say if you can kite in the Gorge you can kite anywhere !

Check out this clip of me getting up on the E Foil. You have to start on your knees and use the trigger to get some speed with the engine. Once youโre moving half speed you can stand up. Once standing you can cruise normal or shift your weight to the back foot to engage the foil to start planing.

I love riding long boards like this board pictured here. I call her black Betty. Sheโs a soft top nose rider. That means the top of the board is soft/foam. I ride soft tops because I have a cracked rib cage and it hurts to lay on hard boards. This board is made by catch surf which is an amazing brand for soft tops. I love this board ! Super easy to ride and I catch tons of waves. Letโs change the stigma around soft tops! ๐๐

Make sure to stretch before you partake in any physical activities. Stretching is a super important part of my routine. I stretch every morning and sometimes before bed. When I get to the beach before I surf or kitesurf I make sure to stretch a little more. It helps your body function properly and prevents injury ๐ค

E Foil ! Efoil means electric hydrofoil . This is a special type of surfboard that has a motor. The hydrofoil itself is a special fin with a mast that causes you to levitate out of the water when riding. Itโs like riding a magic carpet, you literally float through the water. I was lucky enough to go wake surfing with my cousins while in Michigan. You can see here that once you are up behind the wake or wave ๐ that you can use your body weight to stay in the wave. Itโs a balance of shifting your weight between your front foot and back foot. The back foot is almost like the breaks. It can slow you down, shifting your weight forward will send you closer to the boat and speed you up.

I love hiking so much. I canโt emphasize enough that connecting with nature is super important. Hiking is such a good full body exercise and can really help you get in shape so you can partake in other sports. I highly recommend it. I like to hike in my down time between sports if Iโm in an area that has hiking.

Today I decided to go for a hike and get out in nature. Again you know I love connecting with nature. Since Iโm in Michigan I went on a hike at my favorite state park. I grew up hiking here. Hiking is a great alternative when you cannot do your normal water sports or activities. It helps with endurance and strength training. When I get back to surfing I should be in great condition from all the hikes!

Look how gorgeous my beach has been! This is after I went paddle boarding ! The board I rode was a very small paddle board. It was extremely hard to ride. I have great board skills and had trouble myself. If you are beginning to paddle board use a BIG board. The bigger the better!

Took a dip in the ocean today! Look how crystal clear the water is! I was feeling a bit down and submersing myself into the ocean was very healing! Did you know itโs full of negative ions which have a small electrical charge and is known to be a mood stabilizer โจ no wonder Iโm at the beach so much! Give it a try! ๐
