Sometimes I feel very sad that my father passed away 7 years ago. To him, I was the most beautiful, the smartest, and the best girl in the world. Now, I remember this with warmth in my heart and pain. I miss you so much, Dad! I miss you dearly! I miss our evening chats, when you would tell me what was on your mind and share stories from your life. I miss the days when I would stay up late waiting for you to come home from work. I miss the times when you went on long trips to Germany and brought me new things, Barbie dolls, and Kinder surprises. I miss those New Year's gifts, always wrapped under the tree, the ones I wanted so much, like the perfume I loved or a zip-up hoodie with a hood. Every time, I would fall asleep on the small couch by the tree on Christmas Eve, and you would quietly place the gift under the tree. When I woke up, I thought Santa had been there! Thank you for those moments, they are in my heart forever. Your loving daughter.
